GENTLEDfEN your petitioner, as agent
for Adam ForepauZhIs circus, museum,
managerie and side - shows, would respect-
fu;ly call your attention to the following
facts: As you may ](now, we are under a
very heavy expense for transportation,
feed, salariel, etc., and we only show in
your.city one day, _and have to take the
risk as t ;the weather and lateness of the
season, which may destroy our chances of
doing business, would resppectfully submit
to your honorable body that ,the present )
license $250) is a ve ;y large amount (out-
side of , tate and county license), and al-
ul,ost amounts to a prohibition of all trav-
eling companies; that we at the same time
are willing to pay a reasonable amount,
say $100, to the city. Waiting your con -
sideration of this, your petitioner submits
it, and hopinL, a favorable reply to the
