MARKHAM, TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER 7 PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS,The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock,Arkansas,passed Little Rock,Ark., 10 Ordinance No. 21,761 (July 23,2019) ("LRO 21,761"), which permitted the creation of a Permanent and 11 Temporary Entertainment Districts;and, 12 WHEREAS,The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock,Arkansas,passed Little Rock,Ark., 13 LRO21,762 (July 23, 2019) which permitted the creation of a Permanent River Market Entertainment 14 Districts; and, 15 WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Little Rock to 16 extend the geographical boundaries of the River Market Permanent Entertainment District to include the 17 100-400 blocks of West Markham, and the 100-200 Blocks of East Markham. 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 19 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS. 20 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby extends the geographical boundaries of the Permanent 21 River Market Entertainment District to include the 100-200 blocks of W.Markham,and the 100-400 blocks 22 of E. Markham. 23 Section 2. Boundaries. The River Market Entertainment District encompasses all public 24 spaces lying within 1)Block 1 of Pope's Addition in the City of Little Rock;and 2)Thirty(30)feet of each 25 side of the centerline of the following blocks of the City of Little Rock:300-600 blocks of President Clinton 26 Avenue, 100 block of North Rock Street, 100 block of St. Vincent Plaza, also known as the 100 block of 27 North Commerce Street, 100-200 blocks of East Markham,and 100 to 400 blocks of W. Markham. . 28 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, 29 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration 30 or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force 31 and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of 32 the resolution. 33 Section 4. Repealer. The provisions of all technical codes, ordinances, and codes of ordinances [Page 1 of 2] 1 in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. 2 Section 5. Emergency Clause.
