The commission requested that I provide specs for the windows that I plan to use. Let me
know if you have a problem with either of them. Otherwise, I will select the window that
can deliver the quickest.

Andersen® 400 Series Tilt -Wash Double -Hung Window
Features
FRAME
Exterior outer frame members are covered with a preformed rigid vinyl PVC
cladding minimizing maintenance and providing an attractive appearance.
Andersen® tilt -wash windows are available in four neutral colors. Specify
White, Sandtone, Terratone® or Forest Green color.
For exceptionally long-lasting performance, sill members are constructed with
a wood core and Fibrex® composite material exterior. Sill ends are protected
and sealed with weather -resistant covers.
Natural wood stops are made of treated, clear pine that can be finished to
match the interior decor. On white prefinished interior units the stops are white
PVC.
A factory -applied rigid vinyl anchoring flange on the head, sill and side of the
outer frame helps secure the unit to the structure.
An extruded rigid patented vinyl jamb liner and fin provide a protective seal
against the outer frame members. Exclusive patented slide wash assists make
it easy to tilt the sash into wash mode position.
Q Weatherstripping throughout the unit provides a long-lasting, energy -efficient,
weather -repellant seal. For the top and bottom rails, an encased foam material
is used. The head jamb liner and sill have a rigid vinyl rib that the
weatherstripping material compresses against. At the check rail, compressible
vinyl bulb material is used. Side jamb liners use leaf type weatherstripping
with foam inserts.
Unique block and tackle counterbalances feature sized -to -the -unit, rust -
resistant springs that require no adjustment. Glass -reinforced nylon balancer
shoes provide smooth, reliable sash operation. To prevent accidental release
when in wash mode, they automatically lock into position with a patented
stainless steel retainer clip.

Q A Polyester stabilized coat with a Flexacron@ finish is electrostatically applied
to penetrate all exterior surfaces for maximum protection and a lustrous finish.
Q Wood sash members are treated with a water -repellant wood preservative for
long-lasting protection and performance. The interior of the sash is clear pine
for staining or painting.
GLASS
QA glazing bead and silicone provide superior weathertightness and durability.

When you need that full view window and the performance of a casement window, BiltBest is the
one to use.
For optimum efficiency, a polypropylene leaf vinyl is used on all four sides of the sash, and all
interior frame stops are weatherstripped with dual durometer bulb weatherstrip that resists
compression set.
All casement windows 42" or taller have tandem locks. When you release the bottom lock, the top
unlocks too. It is easier and safer that way. We have an adjustable sash that allow you to square
up the sash and frame without removing the window or pulling on the screws. One simple screw
adjustment is all it takes!
Our casements and awnings are equipped with goldtone hardware that is standard. Sturdy worm
gear dual -arm sash operator, opens and closes with ease. BiltBest's exclusive adjustable concealed
hinges are constructed of steel for maximum strength. White hardware is optional.
True Awning Hardware (scissors -type) may be specified on all awning windows. Our standard is a
casement window turned on its side.

feel you want. For optimum weatherstripping, a dual durometer bulb is used on the top sash and
on the sill stop. A wool pile air block pad is set in the vinyl jamb liner at the check rail position to
minimize air infiltration.
