HomeMy WebLinkAboutHDC1985-002 Letter From COLR Office Of Comprehensive To Mr. Pete Corn 12/09/1985City of Little Rock Office of City Hall Comprehensive Markham at Broadway Planning Little Rock, Arkansas 72201 371-4790 December 9, 1985 Mr. Pete Corn 9105 Chicot Road Little Rock, AR 72209 Dear Mr. Corn: On December 5th, 1985, the Historic District Commission vetoed to defer action on the American Legion's request to demolish the house at 522 Rook Street and to construct a parking lot on the site. This was done in order that the Commission may have time to explore alternatives to demolition. This deferral may last no more than six months and a report must be made to the Commission at each meeting in the interim. I will keep you informed of all progress made in this matter. At the meeting, the Commission authorized John Jarrard and myself to work with you and your architect to resolve any problems which may exist with the design in order to facilitate the process should the Commission eventually approve the application. Please contact me as to when this would be convenient or if you have any questions. A FROM: ROBERT ATKINSON, URBAN DESIGNER1-� OFFICE OF COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING SUBJECT: 522 ROCK STREET This memorandum is to inform you that the Historic District Commission voted to exercise its option to delay demolition of the structure at 522 Rock. The Commission is empowered by its ordinance to do so for a period not to exceed 6 months at which time a Certificate of Appropriateness must be issued. The Commission intends to move expeditiously in this matter and I hope for final resolution prior to that time. I will keep you informed of progress in this case.
