Dear Mr. Corn:
On December 5th, 1985, the Historic District Commission
vetoed to defer action on the American Legion's request to
demolish the house at 522 Rook Street and to construct a
parking lot on the site. This was done in order that the
Commission may have time to explore alternatives to
demolition. This deferral may last no more than six months
and a report must be made to the Commission at each meeting
in the interim. I will keep you informed of all progress
made in this matter.
At the meeting, the Commission authorized John Jarrard and
myself to work with you and your architect to resolve any
problems which may exist with the design in order to
facilitate the process should the Commission eventually
approve the application. Please contact me as to when this
would be convenient or if you have any questions.
Sincerel you s,
