HomeMy WebLinkAbout17020 1 RESOLUTION NO. 17,020 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH ED'S SUPPLY COMPANY INC., IN AN 5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-NINE 6 THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED NINETY-ONE DOLLARS AND 33 7 CENTS, ($139,991.33) PLUS APPLICABLE TAXES AND FEES FOR THE 8 PURCHASE OF HVAC EQUIPMENT FOR THE JIM DAILEY FITNESS 9 AND AQUATIC CENTER AND FOR THE DUNBAR RECREATION 10 CENTER; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department operates the Jim Dailey 13 Fitness and Aquatic Center and the Dunbar Recreation Center for the benefit and use of the public; and, 14 WHEREAS,the existing HVAC equipment serving portions of these facilities has reached the end of 15 its useful life and requires replacement in order to maintain proper climate control and ensure continued 16 operation of the facilities; and, 17 WHEREAS, the City's Building Services Division has determined that the purchase of new HVAC 18 equipment is necessary to maintain safe and efficient operations at these facilities;and, 19 WHEREAS, Ed's Supply Company has been identified as the vendor to provide the required HVAC 20 equipment as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for ITB # 222667 for which two(2) bids were 21 received. 22 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 23 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 24 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Ed's Supply Company Inc. 25 for an amount not to exceed One Hundred Thirty-Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred Ninety-One and 33/100 26 dollars ($139,991.33) plus applicable taxes and fees for the purchase of HVAC equipment for the Jim 27 Dailey Fitness and Aquatic Center and the Dunbar Recreation Center. 28 Section 2. Funds are available from the Building Services Facility Improvement Account— 108409- 29 S400633 30 Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this Resolution is declared or adjudged to be 31 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this 32 Resolution,which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 33 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this Resolution.
