Staff has reviewed your latest submittals for a permit on 1001 McMath Avenue for your three story building. There are a number of changes to the elevations of the structure that have not been approved by the Commission. We have analyzed the twenty-four changes that have been proposed to the building since the building was last reviewed by the Historic District Commission. Even with the changes due to fire codes, this number of changes is too much for Staff to approve. If you wish to proceed with the drawings that were submitted most recently, we will require a hearing by the Historic District Commission for approval of the changes. Point 3 in letter dated 2/27/15 in paragraph three to switch window type B to window type D on west end of third floor of North fapade is a moot point if the window is the same size and is in the same location. The Commission approved the size and location of the windows, not if they are casement or fixed. The Commission was not given the schedule of what was fixed or casement, so to switch from one to another is moot. This change is permitted. In first list of bullet points, #1 should be east facade instead of west. In second list of bullet points, #1 should be west facade instead of east. After further analysis due to fire codes, you have two options to obtain a building permit for this site. 1) Build as described in this chart attached below; or 2) have the HDC approve your revised plans. If you choose to go before the HDC, we can place you on the April 13 agenda if you get your information into us by 5:00 March 13th. The Plans Examiners will still need to check the plans for building code compliance prior to issuing a permit.
