SUBJECT: Permit for 1423 Cumberland
This memo serves as approval from the Little Rock Historic District Commission (LRHDC)
allowing the property owner of 1423 Cumberland (located within the MacArthur Park Historic
District) permission to obtain a permit in order to demolish the structure. The owner appeared
before the LRHDC last March 2000, and the request for demolition was deferred for six months
(September 2000 as the deadline). At each subsequent LRHDC meeting, the demolition request
was placed on the agenda, under old business, as an update. The ordinance states that if the
LRHDC has not acted on the request, two months after the deferral expires, then the request is
considered approved; the request was approved unanimously at the February 2001 meeting.
