We understand that you are using the Federal Rehabilitation Tax Credit and plan to restore the building to its original condition. The MacArthur Park Historic District Commission Staff will need certain information to make sure all of the materials being used for repair are genuine in order to assure compliance with the MacArthur Park Historic District standards for repair. If you have Historic Documentation proving certain materials that would be helpful. What we will need from you: • Scale drawings of proposed landscaping and the walkway design • Scale drawings of the final parking lot design • Elevations of the building facades • Details on the type of repair work including o Doors -designs and materials o Windows - designs and materials o Light stanchions designs and materials Also we have general questions that will need to be addressed regarding the south side fire escape, and pedestrian railing on the south side of the building. Will those be repaired or replaced? Reminder, the historic district guidelines state that parking areas need to be screened from view by either a fence or shrubbery. The hedges around the south parking lot are an excellent example of screening and would be encouraged for the new parking area. If indeed the improvements to the building are deemed as repairs you will only need to apply for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the construction and screening of the new parking area. Feel free to contact our staff with any questions. Sincerely, Charles Bloom Historic District Staff What we will need from you. { Landscaping /Walkway Design, Parking lot design, Elevations of the Building, Details on Repair work including (Pictures of Original if available).
