The National Park Service has reviewed your Historic Preservation Certification Applications - Part 2, for the properties
refaced above, and has determircd that the proposed rehabilitation projects described in the submitted
documentation, including the information pravded in your better of August 31, 20DO, will meet the Secretary of the
Interior's Sumdards for RehabAttatim provided that the following conditions are met:
309 E. 14th Street (6301):
1. installation o€HVAC vents and ducts may not negatively impact the historic character of she interior.
2. Piaster ceilings in first floor bedroom, dining room wW bathroom, and second floor YJtchen, bedroom and bathroom
may be "lightly textured" if these ceilings were "lightly text{rred" prior to the beginning of yoim rehabilitation. Pleas4�,L
provide photographs of these ceilings before rehabilitation if available_
In addition, please note that the National Park Service does not regr,m laboratory analysis of mortar but that:
Repointutg mortar must match the color, texture, strength, joint width wW joint profile of the wdstmg historic masonry.
Good quality overall and close-up color photographs of the masonry before and after repointing must be submitted with
the Request. for Certification of Completed Work.
Material submitted for conformance with these comditions should be subnuttcxJ to this office Rough the State Historic
Preservation Office. This office will review any additional material relating to these ceud<tions as soon as it is made
available. Any substantive change ir: ttse words as described in the application should be brought to our attention in
writing prior to c.veeution to ensure continuo conformance to the Standards.
This letter is a preliminary determination, since a fomW "certification of rehabilitation" can be issued only to the owner
or quabfied lessee of a "certified historic structure" after the r&abilitation work is completed. To request certification
upon compietion of the project, a Request for Certification of Cornpleted Work, interior and exterior photographs of the

through the State !-Historic Preservation Office. An onsite insTection of the completed work by an authorized
