HomeMy WebLinkAbout17005 1 RESOLUTION NO. 17,005 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO AGREE 4 AND COMPLY TO GRANT TERMS TO ACCEPT FORTY-TWO 5 THOUSAND ($42,000.000) IN GRANT FUNDS FROM UNITED STATES 6 TENNIS ASSOCIATION ("USTA") FOR THE USE OF RESURFACING 7 REBSAMEN TENNIS CENTER'S SEVENTEEN (17) TENNIS COURTS IN 8 COMPLIANCE WITH THE USTA GRANT REQUIREMENT THAT 9 EIGHT (8) OF THE COURTS BE COMPLETED WITH 60' BLENDED 10 TENNIS PLAYING LINES;AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS, the Tennis Courts at the City's Rebsamen Tennis Center are in need of resurfacing to 13 continue their mission to be one of Arkansas's premier public outdoor tennis centers;and, 14 WHEREAS,the City's Grants division partnered with the City's Parks&Recreation to apply for grant 15 funds to cover the cost of resurfacing Rebsamen Tennis Center's seventeen(17)courts;and, 16 WHEREAS,the City was awarded three(3)USTA grants totaling Sixty-Nine Thousand,Five Hundred 17 Dollars($69,500.00),to be used for tennis court resurfacing of all 17 of the Center's courts,with eight(8) 18 of those seventeen (17)courts required to have 60-inch blended tennis playing lines to be compliant with 19 the grant terms. 20 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS; 22 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to accept Forty-Two Thousand Dollars ($42,000.00) in 23 Tennis Venue Services Grant Funding from the United States Tennis Association,and agree to grant terms 24 for the tennis court resurfacing project of 17 courts at Rebsamen Tennis Center. 25 Section 2. Funds for this expenditure are available in the USTA Tennis Venue Services Account No. 26 270459,Activity No. G45F263,and will be distributed when the project is completed. 27 Section 3. Severability.
