3 A RESOLUTION TO RATIFY THE APPOINTMENT OF KEVIN NEWTON
4 AS A NORTH LITTLE ROCK COMMISSIONER TO THE CENTRAL AR-
5 KANSAS WATER AUTHORITY;AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

7 WHEREAS, the cities of Little Rock, Arkansas, and North Little Rock, Arkansas, entered into an
8 agreement to create the Central Arkansas Water Authority("CAW"); and,
9 WHEREAS, Section 3.02 of the Consolidation Agreement requires the confirmation by both govern-
10 ments of any person nominated to be a commissioner of CAW; and,
11 WHEREAS,on February 12, 2026, CAW nominated Kevin Newton to serve a seven(7)year term as
12 a commissioner,and forwarded his nomination to the two cities for ratification;
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IN RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
14 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
15 Section 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, ratifies the February 12, 2026 appointment of Kevin
16 Newton of North Little Rock,Arkansas,to a seven(7)year term on the board of CAW.
17 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
18 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adju-
19 dication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect
20 as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the reso-
21 lution.
22 Section 3.Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
23 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
