3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE
5 AND ADMINSTRATION TO ACCEPT FIFTY-ONE THOUSAND, SIX
6 HUNDRED TWENTY-FOUR AND 94/100 DOLLARS ($51,624.94) IN
7 GRANT FUNDS FROM THE VICTIM JUSTICE AND ASSISTANCE
8 PROGRAM VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN FORMULA GRANT NO.
9 16,588,TO SUBSIDIZE FUNDING FOR A DEDICATED LRPD DOMESTIC
10 VIOLENCE DETECTIVE POSITION WITHIN LITTLE ROCK POLICE
11 DEPARTMENT;AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

13 WHEREAS, the City acknowledges that the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration is
14 offering grant funds from the Victim Justice and Assistance Program Violence Against Women Formula
15 Grant No. 16,588;and,
16 WHEREAS, the City has applied for grant funds from the Arkansas Department of Finance and
17 Administration and desires to accept Fifty-One Thousand, Six Hundred Twenty-Four and 94/100 Dollars
18 ($51,624.94)in funding awarded through the grant process to partially fund a dedicated domestic violence
19 detective position in the Little Rock Police Department along with a Fifteen Thousand Dollars($15,000.00)
20 match of city funds.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
22 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS;
23 Section 1.The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Arkansas Department of
24 Finance and Administration and any other necessary documents to ratify the acceptance of grant funds from
25 the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration and desires to accept Fifty-One Thousand, Six
26 Hundred Twenty-Four and 94/100 Dollars($51,624. 94) in funding awarded through the grant process to
27 subsidize funding for a dedicated domestic violence detective position in the Little Rock Police Department.
28 Section 2. Grant funds for this expenditure will be placed in Account No. 270529, Activity No.
29 G52P251.
30 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
31 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
32 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and

1 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
2 resolution.
3 Section 4.Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
4 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
