3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE
4 THE CITY'S UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
5 BUILD GRANT APPLICATION BY THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF
6 PARKS, HERITAGE AND TOURISM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF
7 THE DOWNTOWN URBAN CORRIDOR TRAIL INFRASTRUCTURE;
8 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS,the Arkansas Department of Parks,Heritage and Tourism has applied for a grant from the
11 United States Department of Transportation for a BUILD Grant for the development of a downtown urban
12 corridor; and,
13 WHEREAS,this work would occur primarily in the area of Riverfront Park,the I-30 Crossing Park,
14 adjacent connected areas, and rail infrastructure; and,
15 WHEREAS, the City funding for the match for such a grant would not exceed Three Million, One
16 Hundred Fifty-Seven Thousand, One Hundred Two and 45/100 Dollars ($3,157,102.45) as part of the
17 required Twenty percent(20%)match required for the grant.
18 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS;
20 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter to approve the City's grant application by the
21 Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism for a United States Department of Transportation
22 Raise Grant for the development of trail infrastructure in the area consisting largely of Riverfront Park,the
23 I-30 Crossing Park,and adjacent connected areas.
24 Section 2.The City understands and accepts its responsibility to provide Three Million, One Hundred
25 Fifty-Seven Thousand, One Hundred Two and 45/100 Dollars ($3,157,102.45)in matching funds should
26 this grant be successful.
27 Section 3.The City directs that the monies for any of its matching funds obligation will be taken from
28 the 2022 Voter Approved Bond Authorization, funded by the millage parks portion.
29 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
33 resolution.

1 Section 5.Repealer. All laws, ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
2 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
