HomeMy WebLinkAbout16979 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,979 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH CASTILLO CONCRETE POOL AND SPA, 5 INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED TWENTY 6 THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED NINETY AND 00/100 DOLLARS, 7 ($220,290.00),FOR THE CITY HALL RETAINING WALL PROJECT;AND 8 FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, it has been deemed appropriate and necessary to analyze and design a project to 11 replace a failing stone retaining wall on the north side of Little Rock City Hall; and, 12 WHEREAS,project improvements include removal of the existing stone retaining wall,sidewalk, 13 and pavement, installation of new underground drainage, construction of a new reinforced concrete 14 retaining wall, handrails,grading,pavement repairs,and related work;and, 15 WHEREAS, responses to an Invitation to Bid ("ITB"), Bid No. 217214 for City Hall Retaining 16 Wall were received by the City of Little Rock on February 5,2026; and, 17 WHEREAS, six (6) bids were received, and it was determined that Castillo Concrete Pool and 18 Spa, Inc. provided the lowest,responsive,responsible bid meeting specifications. 19 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 20 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement for the City Hall 22 Retaining Wall project with Castillo Concrete Pool and Spa, Inc. in an amount not exceed Two Hundred 23 Twenty Thousand,Two Hundred Ninety and 00/100 Dollars,($220,290.00),which is the base bid amount 24 of One Hundred Eighty Three Thousand, Five Hundred Seventy-Five and 00/100 Dollars, ($183,575.00) 25 plus a Twenty percent(20%)contingency. 26 Section 2. Funding for this project is from City Facilities Special Activity funds.Account Activity 27 108409 S400633. 28 Section 3. Severabiliry. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, 29 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 31 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 32 resolution.
