Bradford, of Pine Bluff, has announced he will seek the De- mocratic nomination for the 4th District congressional seat held 5. cities receive grants to help historic efforts The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program has awarded $37,900 in grant mon- ey to five cities through the Cer- tified Local Government pro- gram. Cities involved in the pro- gram are making efforts to pre- serve historical properties in their areas. The grants are: • $15,000 to Little Rock for historic surveys in the Central High School and Capitol View/Stifft Station neighbor- hoods and to restore two hors- es for the Over the Jumps Carousel from War Memorial Park. o $5,000 to Helena for a struc- tural report on Centennial Bap- tist Church. ■ $5,600 to Fort Smith for continuing repairs to boundary markers in the Belle Grove His- toric District. • $6,000 to Van Buren for his- toric structure surveys in the city's historic district. 0 $6,300 to North Little Rock for historic structure surveys in the Park Hill neighborhood and to partially pay the salary of a technical assistant for the city's Historic District Commission.
