HomeMy WebLinkAbout16966 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,966 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A SUBAWARD AGREEMENT WITH BLOOMBERG 5 PHILANTHROPIES AND JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY TO ACCEPT 6 SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($60,000.00), IN ADDITIONAL GRANT 7 FUNDS TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADMINISTRATIVE NEEDS OF THE OF 8 THE SUPPORT POSITION WITH THE CITY FOR THE LOVE YOUR 9 BLOCK PROJECT IN WARDS 1, 2, 6, AND 7; AND FOR OTHER 10 PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS,in August 2024,the City executed an agreement to accept One Hundred Thousand Dollars 13 ($100,000.00) in grant funds for the Love Your Block Project from Bloomberg Philanthropies and Johns 14 Hopkins University over the course of two(2)years; and, 15 WHEREAS, grant sponsor, Bloomberg Philanthropies, has partnered with Johns Hopkins University 16 to provide Sixty Thousand Dollars($60,000.00)in grant funding to provide for the administrative needs of 17 the support position with the City and fund projects in City Wards 1,2,6,and 7;and 18 WHEREAS,the City's Grants Division of the Finance Department wishes to accept these funds and 19 enter into a second subaward agreement with Bloomberg Philanthropies and Johns Hopkins University. 20 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS; 22 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the Bloomberg Philanthropies funded 23 Subaward Agreement with Johns Hopkins University and any necessary grant documents to accept sixty 24 Thousand Dollars ($60,000.00), to ensure the continuation of funding for the administrative support 25 position with the City and Love Your Block projects in City Wards 1,2, 6,and 7. 26 Section 2. Funding for this project will be from foundation funds held in the JHU-Love Your Block 27 Admin.Account No.270129,Activity No. Gl2F25A. 28 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 29 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 31 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 32 resolution.
