Anne Guthrie, Historic Preservation Administrator DATE: 1 September 1999 SUBJECT: Permit for 909 Cumberland This memo serves as administrative approval from the Little Rock Historic District Commission (LRHDC) allowing the property owner of 909 Cumberland (located within the MacArthur Park Historic District) permission to obtain a building permit. I understand that the permit is for repairs to the front porch -- soffits, fascia, spindles and siding. There is no change to the porch roof, its pitch, building materials or introduction of new architectural elements. Regular maintenance is allowed within the local ordinance historic district without appearing before the LRHDC, but with administrative approval for a Certificate of Appropriateness (COA). As such, and meeting all city, building and health regulations, the application for a building permit should be approved. If exterior changes, repairs or improvements are extensive, require considerable materials and costs and complete changes to the exterior profile, the applicant will take appropriate actions for a public hearing before the LRHDC.
