I have received some information concerning the proposed conditional use permit for a parking lot at 618
Flock Street and my wife and 1 oppose this proposal due to our commitment to the Little Rock downtown
area. While the Second Baptist Church is a vital part of the neighborhood, a parking lot is not. There is an
abundance of parking lots currently in the area and anew one would defeat the purpose of all the work that
has been done by the residents of the 600 block of stock Street. 1 believe there are several homes that have
been saved from demolition and have been beautifully restored, it would be a shame for all that effort to go
to waste with a parking lot next door or across the street.
If the Historic Commission elects to allow this property to become a parking lot where will it all end? The
6 years we have lived downtown the commission has done some excellent work and we appreciate the
values it upholds for the history of this Little Rock neighborhood. Please do not a[low this property to
suffer the fate that many others have and become a concrete s)ab to only be used on Sunday. If the
property stays as it is there is the hope that someone can purchase it and either move a historic structure on
the property or build one within the commission's guidehnes-
Pleasesave the neighborhood.
Sincerely,
Cf&'
Best
