Subject: COA for Single Family House at 901 Cumberland Street
Dear Chairman Bowen and Commissioners,
I am writing to encourage you to approve the application for a COA for the single family house at 901
Cumberland Street.
The changes to the previous design in the roof, height, windows, porches, and the addition of a door on the 9th
Street facade help the house address and blend with the houses to the south on Cumberland Street and the house
to the east on 9th Street. This is a transitional corner lot on the edge of the MacArthur Park Historic District
with a variety of architectural types and styles nearby. The proposed house is clearly contemporary, but does a
good job of complementing the surrounding buildings and addressing both streets; I believe it will be an asset to
the neighborhood.
