HomeMy WebLinkAbout16960 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,960 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH NORTH AMERICAN FIRE EQUIPMENT 5 COMPANY, INC. (NAFECO), IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED 6 $290,745.36, PLUS APPLICABLE TAXES AND FEES, FOR THE 7 PURCHASE OF FIREFIGHTING PROTECTIVE COATS AND PANTS 8 FOR THE LITTLE ROCK FIRE DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER 9 PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS,the Little Rock Fire Department(LRFD)requires the replacement and acquisition of 12 firefighting protective coats and pants to ensure the safety and operational readiness of its firefighters; and, 13 WHEREAS, the specifications for the firefighting protective coats and pants were written and 14 approved by the Little Rock Fire Department Safety Committee members to meet applicable safety 15 standards and operational needs; and, 16 WHEREAS, LRFD proposes to purchase seventy-four(74) firefighting protective coats at a unit 17 cost of Two Thousand One Hundred Thirty-Nine and 95/100 Dollars ($2,139.95) and seventy-four (74) 18 firefighting protective pants at a unit cost of One Thousand Four Hundred Seventy-Six and 95/100 Dollars 19 ($1,476.95)from North American Fire Equipment Company, Inc. ("NAFECO");and, 20 WHEREAS, the total cost of the firefighting protective coats and pants shall not exceed Two 21 Hundred Six Thousand One Hundred Sixty-Three and 30/100 Dollars ($290,735.46), plus freight and 22 applicable taxes; and, 23 WHEREAS, LRFD will utilize the competitively procured National Purchasing Partners 24 (NPP.GOV)cooperative contract, Contract No. 010424-LIO,to make this purchase from NAFECO; and, 25 WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available through Special Project ACT 833, account 26 number 210519-S00B250;and, 27 WHEREAS,entering into a contract with NAFECO is in the best interest of the City of Little Rock 28 and the Little Rock Fire Department. 29 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 30 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 31 Section 1. The purchase of firefighting protective coats and pants for the Little Rock Fire 32 Department from North American Fire Equipment Company, Inc.(NAFECO), in an amount not to exceed [Page 1 of 2] 1 Two Hundred Ninety Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty-Five and 46/100 Dollars($290,735.46),plus freight 2 and applicable taxes, is hereby approved. 3 Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with North American 4 Fire Equipment Company,Inc.(NAFECO)utilizing NPP.GOV Contract No.010424-LIO for the purchase 5 of said firefighting protective coats and pants. 6 Section 5. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, 7 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 8 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 9 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 10 resolution. 11 Section 6. Repealer.
