HomeMy WebLinkAboutHDC1999-011 Memorandum To Charles Toland, Permits Administrator Form Anne Guthrie, HPA 03/03/1999MEMORANDUM TO: Charles Toland, Permits Administrator FROM: V. Anne Guthrie, Historic Preservation Administrator DATE: 3 March 1999 SUBJECT: Permit for 1415 Commerce This memo serves as administrative approval from the Little Rock Historic District Commission (LRHDC) allowing the property owner of 1415 Commerce (located within the MacArthur Park Historic District) permission to obtain a building permit. I understand that the permit is for roof repairs, selected demolition and rehabilitation and/or reconstruction due to the damage caused by the January 21 tornado. There is no change to the roof line, pitch or building materials. While regular maintenance is allowed within the local ordinance historic district without a Certificate of Appropriateness (COA), the application for a building permit should be approved meeting all city, building and health regulations. The demolition and rehab work goes before the LRHDC on 11 or 18 March for approval; perhaps a contingency could be added to the permit requiring COA approval by and a public hearing before the LRHDC for the selected demolition and rehab work.
