WOOD DOORS
PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 SECTION INCLUDES
A. Wood doors non -rated.
1.2 SUBMITTALS
A.Shop Drawings: Indicate door elevations and cutouts for
glazing.
1.3 WARRANTY
A. Section 01001 - Basic Requirements: Provide a five year
warranty to include coverage:
1. Exterior Doors, Five years, include coverage for warping beyond
specified installation tolerances, defective
materials.

2.5 DOOR TYPES
A. Manufacturers:
1. Simpson Door Company; 400 Simpson Ave.; McCleary, WA 98557; 1-800

B. Exterior Doors: 1-3/4 inches thick; solid core construction.
2.6 DOOR CONSTRUCTION
A. Core Solid, Non -Rated: NWWDA, Type stile and rail core.
2.7 FLUSH DOOR FACING
A. Wood Veneer: NWWDA Economy grade; Birch species wood, rotary
sliced with random match grain, for paint finish.
3.4 ACCESSORIES
A. Glass Stops: Wood type
3.6 FABRICATION
A. Fabricate non -rated doors in accordance with NWWDA I.S.1
requirements.
B. Astragals for Double Doors: Steel T shaped, recessed at mid -
door thickness.
C. Factory machine doors for finish hardware.
D. Site fit door for frame opening dimensions identified on shop
drawings.
3.7 FINISH
A.Factory finish doors in accordance with approved sample.
PART 4 EXECUTION
4.1 INSTALLATION
A. Install doors in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
requirements.
B. Coordinate installation of glass and glazing.
C. Coordinate installation of doors with installation of frames
specified in Section 08112.
D. Coordinate installation of door hardware and provide smooth
operation panic door hardware.
E. Adjust door for smooth and balanced door movement.
4.2 INSTALLATION TOLERANCES
A. Conform to NWWDA requirements for fit and clearance tolerances
and maximum diagonal distortion.
4.3 SCHEDULE
A. See attached Frame and Door drawing.

SECTION 08110
STEEL DOOR FRAMES
PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 SECTION INCLUDES
A. Steel door frames; non -rated.
1.2 SUBMITTALS
A. Shop Drawings: Indicate door frame elevations, internal
reinforcement, cut-outs for glazing.
B. Product Data: Indicate door frame configuration, location of
cut-outs for hardware reinforcement.
1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Conform to the following:
1. DHI - Door Hardware Institute - The Installation of Commercial
Steel Doors and Steel Frames, Insulated Steel Doors
in Wood Frames and Builder's Hardware.
2. Handicapped: ANSI A117.1.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.1 DOOR FRAME
A. Manufacturers:
1. Republic Doors and Frames, 155 Republic Drive, McKenzie, TN
38201.
2. Ceco Door, 9159 Telecom Drive, Milan, TN 38358.
3. DKS Steel Door & Frame Systems, Inc., 2142 Tubeway Avenue;
Commerce, California 90040.
B. Exterior Frames: 0.047 inch thick material, base metal
thickness.
2.2 ACCESSORIES
A. Silencers: Resilient rubber set in steel channel fitted into
drilled hole.
B. Removable Stops: Rolled steel channel shape.
C. Bituminous Coating: Fibered asphalt emulsion.
D. Primer: Manufacturer's recommendation.
E. Silencers: Resilient rubber set in steel channel fitted into
drilled hole.
2.3 FABRICATION - DOORS
A. See Wood Door specifications.
2.4 FABRICATION - FRAMES
A. Fabricate frames as welded unit.
B. Transom for Glazed Lights: Fixed type, of same profiles as
jamb and head.
C. Fabricate frames with hardware reinforcement plates welded in
place.
D. Reinforce frames wider than 48 inches with roll formed steel
channels fitted tightly into frame head, flush with top.
E. Prepare frame for silencers and install.
F. Fabricate frames to suit with 2 inches sides and head members.
2.5 FINISH
A. Steel Sheet: Galvanized to ASTM A525.
B. Primer: Air dried.
C. Factory Finish: Primed ready for site finish, grey color.
D. Coat inside of frame profile with bituminous coating.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 INSTALLATION
A. Install door frame in accordance with SDI-100.
B. Coordinate installation of door frame, door and installation of
door hardware.
C. Coordinate with existing opening and wood frame structure for
frame anchor placement.
D. Install roll formed steel reinforcement channels between two
abutting frames. Anchor to structure and floor.
E. Install door frame plumb and level.
F. Coordinate installation of glass and glazing.
3.2 TOLERANCES
A. Maximum Diagonal Distortion: 1/8 inch measured with straight
edge, corner to corner.
3.3 SCHEDULE
A. Frame Type: 0.058 inch, primed ready for site finish.
