RE: Remodeling Exterior of
Firehouse Hostel

Dear Brian:
Please see attached drawings and specifications, details and noted photographs of this project for
your HDC Review for issuance of an exterior permit for construction. We have attempted to
note the exterior work to include the tuck and pointing of the masonry and stonework,
replacement of four (4) existing windows with 12 over 1 windows, installation of the stairwell
exterior double doors with 3 by 3 lites and glass transom and the replacement of existing
plywood transoms with a stucco finish.
Actually, wood double doors and steel doors where noted in our documents to the HDC but
access and pricing have become an issue and we request the opportunity to utilize metal doors
that will offer the same visual effect and durability.
We would appreciate any comments and will work to resolve any issues towards acceptability by
staff and the Commission.
