Re: Robert & Kathleen Brown Variance Request
14 Longfellow Lane
Little Rock, AR 72207
Dear Mr. Price,
Please find attached our submittal to the Little Rock Board of Adjustments requesting a variance
to allow a reduced side yard setback.
Our request is based on our client's desire to increase the size and heighten their existing
carport. The current carport clearance is too low and impedes vehicles from being able to drive
through the carport to the garage located on the Northwest corner of the house; the existing
carport, vehicles, and additional equipment have suffered damage due to this. The depth of the
current carport is not deep enough to adequately cover the vehicles; therefore, the clients are
requesting that the rebuild allows for the depth Ito be increased to 23 feet. A perimeter gutter will
be used to manage roof drainage from overflowing onto the neighbor's lot. Also, this new
carport will be keeping with the current look of the house.
If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact me. We
appreciate your consideration of our request.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Jim Yeary, AIA
