Subject: RE: easement on pyramid building 2nd street
I forgot about the adjoining building blocking a side exit into the alley on the 2"d street side. Clayton
called me a little bit ago to discuss the venting issue. I asked if the venting could go back to the alley, and
he said that it wasn't possible to do it. So I recommended hiding the vent under the awning and using a
flat panel on it to make it as unobtrusive as possible. I asked him to send me plans for review. He didn't
bring up the digital sign issue.
I looked through my emails to determine where we left off with the storm windows for the Firehouse
Hostel. I am not finding them. Grrr!! Did you send me some options or did I send you some options?
Cheers,
Paul

Sorry to hear that, but just thought you would want to know that they were fishing around. I will put
the kibosh on the digital sign.
On a different note, do you have any definitive word on the storm windows at the Hostel?

Hi Brian,
I have gone round and round with them about how many elevations are included on the easement.
There is nothing in the document that says it is only on three sides. All four are included in the
easement. I attached a scanned copy of it for you. The vent out the front of the building on 2nd isn't
allowed, nor is a digital sign on the building. If the vent tubing can be rerouted to the alley side of the
building, I will consider it, but not on a main elevation of the building.
Thanks much,
Paul

I just spoke with Clayton Rawls of Gibraltar properties about his conservation easement. He said he had
an easement on three sides and wanted to put a digital sign on the fourth side. He also wants to put a
vent out of a window onto second street. He said he did not consider windows as part of the facade.
Just a heads up.
