Congratulations on all of the interior work that has been done on the historic Fire Station
#2. The Historic District Commission has requested that we send you this letter to notify
you all that you are in the MacArthur Park Historic District. This District is established
to protect the character of the district. City owned properties and parks are not exempt
from the Historic District Commission and are required to go through all necessary steps.
Recent filings similar to yours include the Korean War Memorial, and construction of a
new police substation at Cumberland and Capitol. In the event that any exterior
renovations are to occur, or new additions are to be constructed, your organization will
need apply for a Certificate of Appropriateness.
Enclosed in this letter is a copy of the current Design Guidelines and a COA application.
