Sorry I missed your call earlier this morning.
Yes, you do need to get a building permit for any work valued at $500.00 or more in the city. I looked at my old photos
and my current ones and you have met that threshold and more on the exterior alone. I have no idea of what
renovations have been done in the interior of the property.
I know that you are going for a federal tax credit project. With the purchase price of the property minus the land, it
would appear that you will be spending at least $28,000 on renovations on the house. Therefore, your permit should be
a comparable amount. You are in a targeted neighborhood, so your permit fees are substantially reduced at the time of
permitting. You will need to get this permit as soon as possible.
You never came by to get your Certificate of Compliance that was prepared in mid -January of this year. On it, you were
to replace only deteriorated wood on the west porch and stain. However, this porch has been totally removed and
replaced. You will need to file a Certificate of Appropriateness on this west porch. Here is the link for the
application: http-,Hwww.Iittlerock.org/!userfiles/editor/docs/planning/applications/HDC/o20aJ)plication°/o2008102012.p
df. I am mailing you a hard copy of the application along with the COC from before. The filing deadline for the next
meeting is May 10, 2013 for the June 10, 2013 hearing. A photograph of the stairs/deck with a cover letter stating
dimensions will be sufficient for 6TH application.

Hello Brian,
I am sorry, I was not aware that I needed a permit unless I was doing electrical, plumbing, additions to the
building, HVAC, sandblasting or demolitions work. I just now received this message, as I have been recovering
from a minor surgical procedure with 4 herniated discs and have not kept up with my email.
Could you please tell me what I am doing wrong, and for which permit I need to apply? I would be happy to
call your office or you can call me at your convenience. If I need a permit, I can have my wife drive down
tomorrow afternoon and take care of it. Thank you.

It has come to my attention that you do not have a building permit for the work you have started. Please come by my

Yes, sir that works great. I have purchased a small "dumpster" that I will place in one of the
parking spots for the triplex and it will not take up any more room. I think this should be large
enough to handle the cleanup.

I will take pictures as we go along and forward them to you in case you would like to have them.
Let me know if you need anything else. Thank you again for your help and patience.

Brian,
Is it ok to put a small dumpster in one of the parking places in front of the triplex? I will have it
removed immediately after we are finished painting the exterior. Also, could you tell me if I need
a permit in order to paint the property and replace broken siding?
Thank you very much for your time and patience.
Sincerely,
Jeff Poleet
