Conduct of restoration entails debris removal from inside unit 906 this week, and weather permitting, removal and replacement of the burned roof structure next week. The roof will be restored to the same configuration. During this stage of construction the west chimney will be removed and a metal gas vent installed for an internal gas -log fireplace heater. The twin multi-lite window unit, destroyed in the fire of October 14, 1987 is being manufactured, duplicating the original windows. Additionally, the front door to unit 906 will be replaced with a comparible unit. Origin of this fire was a partically deteriorated fireplace. Because of the construction of this structure and tennant use, State Farm Insurance has re- quested that the fireplace not be reconstructed, thereby eliminating potential fire loss. The owner, Dr. Lanelle McCollum, concurs with State Farm, And, based on our conversation with Mr. W. Mike Dooley, the subsequent roofline venting meets with city planning guidelines. We anticipate securing a building permit on/about January 4, 1988, after all debris has been removed and rough construction has been completed. Therefore, we request from you a certificate of appropriatness prior to that date. Sincerely, Tom Megee, Owner Enterprise Construction Company cc: Dr. Lanelle McCollum
