MEMORANDUM
TO: Charles Toland, Permits Administrator

SUBJECT: Permit for 916 Commerce
This memo serves as administrative approval from the Little Rock Historic District
Commission allowing the property owner of 916 Commerce (located within the
MacArthur Park Historic District) permission to obtain a building permit. I understand
that the permit is to repair the roof by applying new roofing material and replacing the
soffits. This is considered to be regular maintenance and normal repairs, which are
allowed within the local ordinance historic district without a Certificate of
Appropriateness (COA); as such, and meeting all city, building and health regulations,
the application for a building permit should be approved. If exterior changes or
improvements are made that alter the outline or otherwise require a COA (see the
MacArthur Park Historic District design guidelines for confirmation), the LRHDC will be
notified and appropriate actions taken for a public hearing.
