HomeMy WebLinkAbout16923 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,923 2 3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH SWIFT RECREATION, LLC IN AN AMOUNT 5 NOT TO EXCEED FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY-SIX THOUSAND ONE 6 HUNDRED FORTY-EIGHT DOLLARS ($526,148.00), FOR THE 7 REPLACEMENT OF THE PLAYGROUND AT ALLSOPP PARK IN THE 8 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS,the existing playground at Allsopp Park has exceeded its expected lifespan and is in need 11 of full replacement; and, 12 WHEREAS, the playground is a vital recreational amenity that supports safe and engaging play 13 opportunities for children and families throughout the community; and, 14 WHEREAS, replacing the playground will revitalize the play area, enhance the park's overall appeal, 15 and improve quality of life amenities for residents and visitors alike; and, 16 WHEREAS, the proposed new playground will feature modern, inclusive, and safe equipment 17 designed to serve children of all ages and abilities, in alignment with the City's commitment to accessible 18 and engaging recreational spaces; and, 19 WHEREAS, to ensure cost efficiency and compliance, pricing for this project has been obtained 20 through TIPS Cooperative Purchasing Agreements#24070201 and#24070202; and, 21 WHEREAS, Swift Recreation, LLC has submitted a proposal for the replacement of the playground 22 at Allsopp Park in an amount not to exceed Five Hundred Twenty-Six Thousand One Hundred Forty-Eight 23 Dollars($526,148.00). 24 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 25 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 26 Section 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Swift Recreation, 27 LLC for the replacement of the playground at Allsopp Park in an amount not to exceed Five Hundred 28 Twenty-Six Thousand One Hundred Forty-Eight Dollars ($526,148.00), utilizing TIPS Cooperative 29 Purchasing Agreements#24070201 and#24070202. 30 Section 2.That funding for this project shall be paid from Account No. 108459-S45A711. 31 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 32 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 33 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and ]Page I of 2] 1 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 2 resolution. 3 Section 4.
