Home My WebLink About16920 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,920 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A ONE (1)-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH CANVAS 5 COMMUNITY IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED 6 EIGHTY-NINE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED TEN AND 86/100 7 DOLLARS($189,410.86),FOR THE BRIDGE TO WORK PROGRAM;AND 8 FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS,on August 1,2023,the City of Little Rock issued Request for Proposals(RFP)No. 2227 11 for a Bridge to Work Program to provide individuals experiencing homelessness with the dignity of work 12 while fulfilling requests for litter pick-up to enhance the City's overall appearance; and, 13 WHEREAS, Canvas Community was the highest scoring respondent to RFP No. 2227, and the 14 Selection Committee found its proposal for the Bridge to Work Program to be most beneficial;and, 15 WHEREAS, on November 7,2023,the Board of Directors adopted Little Rock,Ark., Resolution No. 16 16,151,authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Canvas Community for the Bridge to 17 Work Program in an amount not to exceed $178,537.90 per year, with the option, upon mutual agreement 18 of the parties,to extend the contract for up to three(3)additional one(1)-year terms, each with a Cost-of- 19 Living Adjustment not to exceed three percent(3%); and, 20 WHEREAS, the City has exercised the first two (2) one-year extensions, and the parties mutually 21 desire to exercise the third and final one(1)-year extension permitted under the agreement;and 22 WHEREAS, the cost for this third extension term includes a three percent (3%) Cost-of-Living 23 Adjustment, bringing the total contract amount to One Hundred Eighty-Nine Thousand Four Hundred 24 Ten and 86/100 Dollars ($189,410.86).,to be paid from the Homeless Services Account No. 108359; 25 and, 26 WHEREAS,it is in the best interest of the City of Little Rock to continue the Bridge to Work Program 27 through Canvas Community for the upcoming contract year. 28 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 29 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 30 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a one (1)-year 31 contract extension with Canvas Community for the continued operation of the Bridge to Work Program, 32 representing the third of three(3)allowable one-year extensions,in an amount not to exceed One Hundred 33 Eighty-Nine Thousand Four Hundred Ten and 86/100 Dollars ($189,410.86). 34 Section 2. Funds for this contract extension shall be paid from the Homeless Services Account No. 35 108359. [Page 1 of 21 1 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 2 word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 3 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance, which shall remain in full force and 4 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 5 ordinance. 6 Section 4. Repealer.
