This partially replaces and amends COA HDC08-018 that was approved by Historic District Commission in the
August 18, 2008 hearing. It also includes some maintenance items. Project Description with Conditions listed:
1) Fencing Repair/Replace.
a) Wood replacement boards to be same size, material and shape as existing. New fence to be in same
location as previous.
b) Replace support posts as needed.
c) Single gate to south of house may be replaced with double swing gates. Use existing boards for new
gates when possible.
2) Porch repair
a) Porch Repair
i) Repair porch columns on front porch.
ii) Reroof front porch with ice shield and flat roll roofing.
iii) Replace or repair soffit and fascia on north side of porch.
iv) If the box gutter is removed, change pitch of roof only enough to shed water without changing location
or height of soffit and fascia.
3) Wood Soffit and Fascia Repair
a) Remove damaged soffit and fascia pieces and replace with wood boards of same dimension, shape and
profile.
b) Caulk, prime, and paint.
4) Wood Siding Fagade Repair
a) Trim Boards and Siding Repair/Replacement
i) Remove all trim boards and save for reuse.
ii) Do not remove siding from under front porch area.
iii) Remove all siding and save pieces that are reusable.
iv) Do not remove attic vents. Flash around them in place.
v) Install insulation between studs then install 1/2 inch sheathing and vapor barrier on house.
vi) Reinstall corner trim hoards and all saved pieces of trim.
vii) Reinstall all salvageable siding on the front or the house and install new siding of same dimension,
shape and profile on rest of house.
viii) Caulk, prime, and paint.
5) Security light
a) Add security light mounted to house on the north side within the rear yard fence enclosure at the offset in
the house. Install as of a small fixture as possible.
