Dear Lynn:
Three months ago I purchased the empty lot next to my buildng, on the
assurance from the realtor that I wouldn't have to go through a lot of
delays, red tape, and general BS, to get my project started. His comment
was, "This will be a "rubber stamp" situation, with no problems."
Had I been smart, I would have said fine, when the rubber stamp hits
the paper, I will write you a check.
Being pretty trusting, I made the mistake of going ahead and
completing the deal, almost on the spot.
During the next three months, I played the game. I wrote the letters,
went to the meetings, copied the plans, wrote the checks, changed the
plans, returned the calls, etc. I basically went over every road block that
your people could possibly put in front of us.
Monday, my effort ended and I was left with three months of hell,
about $16,000.00 in total costs, which includes a now worthless piece of
property, and some worthless house plans.
And what did your people accomplish? Well, you have a lot here is the
Quapaw area that will forever be vacant now, and you will eventually lose
a very good tenant, who's been here for 10 years, has been very
supportive of this area, keeps his place l000king sharp ..... but put the place
up for sale today.
You people would never make it with my company. I have a group of
10 people working here at 1302 Cumberland, that doesn't punch time
clocks, doesn't go to meetings, meets serious deadlines daily, has good
common sense and has no desire to be king for a day.
At your next meeting, strive to embrace anyone who might do your
area good - not run them off. I'm sure that these kind of people aren't
exactly banging your doors down.
In all honesty, I think you should all be ashamed of yourselves for
what you've done.
