Dear David:
TREASURER
Claibourne W. Patty, Jr.
As we discussed on March 1, the Quapaw Quarter Association does wish to take
steps to prevent the interior woodwork and doors of Curran Hall, 615 East Capitol
SECRETARY
Avenue, from being removed from the house. I have spoken to Cathy Slater,
James Metzger
director of the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, and the AHPP also will
step in to help if the woodwork must be purchased to prevent its loss.
BOARD of DIRECTORs
Essentially, the QQA proposes to acquire an "option" to purchase the woodwork,
Mary Jane Bailey
hereby guaranteeing the owners that they will be paid for the woodwork if the Little
Eric Spencer Buchanan
Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau is not able to carry out its plan to buy the
Delbra Caradine, M.D.
DabbsCavin
house for rehabilitation as a visitors' information center.

As you are aware, I represent the owners of 615 East Capitol.
On September 28, 1995, we filed an application to demolish 615 E.
Capitol. A hearing was held before the Little Rock Historic
District Commission on November 2, 1995. The stated purpose of the
Commission delaying ruling on this request was so that Cheryl
Nichols could coordinate with Mayor Jim Dailey the possible
purchase of this property. Since November 2nd I have not heard
from anyone. I would appreciate it if you would place this matter
before the Commission at the earliest opportunity possible. My
clients are entitled to a decision from this Commission. Should
you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give me a call.
