RHODES, III 'BOARD RECOGNIZED TAX LAW SPECIALIST Thank you for your letter of April 9, 1996, and the enclosed copy of the City Ordinance. I was unaware that the Commission, at the November 2, 1995, meeting, had determined that the demolition was inappropriate. My specific recollection is that the Commissioners merely wanted to defer this matter for a few months until the City could be given an opportunity to study the purchase of the building. Unfortunately for my clients, those few months have now turned into six months and according to your letter will turn into seven months from the date of the first hearing. Since that hearing, other than one phone call I received from Tony Berzenski a few weeks ago, I have had no other communication with the Historic District Commission. I notice that the enclosed code section states that "Progress reports shall be made by the Commission or its staff at each regularly scheduled Commission meeting". I would appreciate it if you would send to me a transcript of the initial public hearing and in addition, a copy of each progress report that was made to the Commission. I would also like to have a copy of any and all other letters, reports or other documents that are contained in the Commission's file regarding my clients' application for a Certificate for Appropriateness except for those materials that have been generated by my office. I appreciate your consideration. Yours very truly, DAC:11 cc: Mayor Jim Dailey
