YOUNGDAHL & LARRISON 2101 South Main Street Little Rock, Arkansas 72201 Re: Second Baptist Church v. Little Rock Historic District, 86-308, Arkansas Supreme Court Dear Mr. McGowan: On behalf of the Little Rock Historic District, I would like to extend our sincere appreciation to you for filing an amicus curiae brief in the above matter. We have read your brief and believe that it is a necessary addition to the arguments the City has made in this matter. As pointed out in your brief, the purpose of historic districts should be the paramount consideration in reviewing any particular decision of the commission. The fact that so many courts throughout the Country have agreed with this position offers us greater comfort with our decision in this case. We are hopeful that the Arkansas Supreme Court will agree with you. Please extend our thanks and appreciation to the Quapaw Quarter Association for a job well done. Sin rely, Sam Strauss, Jr., Chairman Little Rock Historic District Commission SSj:ct
