Dear Mike:
The proposed addition to the Cashion Company will be constructed
to the south of the existing building and will continue in the
same form and materials as the present structure (see the enclosed
drawing). Specifically, the porch structure will continue to the
south extending the covered walk to the reconfigured parking lot.
The original building's brick and standing seam metal roof will be
used again in the new construction. Visible from the south
elevation is a mass on the east side of the building which is
actually dead -file storage space on a mezzanine level. Also on
the south wall is an arched window which recalls the original
arched opening.
The parking lot will be reconfigured to maximize the number of
spaces. In order to accomplish this, the lot will be completely
regraded and resurfaced with a new entrance from 6th Street.
Landscaping will meet and go beyond all necessary standards as in
the past.
