Lack of and damaged plumbing facilities. 2. Illegally spliced wiring. 3. Hazardous and dangerous porch roof (lower north side). The following is a list of violations that needed repairs for 609 East Capitol. UPPER APARTMENT: ENTRY HALL AND STAIRWAYS _(,UPPER AND LOWER STAIRS): Floors: Repair and refinish flooring and all steps and landings to include steps to basement. Provide hand rails for steps to basement area. Repair and refinish hand rails. Walls: Repair and refinish all walls. Ceilings: Repair and refinish ceiling. Window and Door Screens: Repair window screens to be insect tight. Repair window screen frames. Screens must be openable. Doors: Install new lockset complete with keeper/strike plate for exterior door. Refinish after repairing exterior door. Repair or replace facings of exterior door and refinish. Re -weatherstrip exterior door. Replace broken glass of exterior door. Windows: Repair window for sashes to fit and operate properly and to be weathertight. Refinish casings, facings, stool and trim of window(s). Refinish window sashes. UPPER HALL AND CLOSET: Floors: Repair and refinish flooring. Walls: Repair and refinish all walls. Repair and refinish walls of closet: Ceilings: Repair and refinish ceiling. Repair and refinish ceiling of closet. Electrical: Install wiring in conduit or wire mold (light fixture inside of closet). L NORTH BATHROOM: Floors: Walls: Ceilings: Cabinets and Miscellaneous: Plumbing: Doors: Windows: Clean existing floor covering. Install strip at northwest door area. Repair and refinish all walls. Repair and refinish walls of closet. Repair and refinish ceiling of closet. Repair and refinish ceiling. Repair or replace wall cabinets and refinish. Repair or replace the drain line(s) of lavatory. Replace lavatory. Refinish all doors. Repair window for sashes to fit and operate properly and to be weathertight. Refinish casings, facings, stool and trim of window(s). Refinish window sashes. STAIIZWAY_TO ATTIC,(NORTHWCST DOOR IN NORTH_BAT HROOM).: Walls: Repair and refinish all walls. Install hand rail to steps leading to attic area. Electrical: Remove improperly installed and/or exposed wiring and install in an approved manner. Install wiring in conduit or wire mold. Install light fixture with approved wall switch. Replace toggle switch and illegal wiring. NORTHEAST BEDROOM: Floors: Repair and refinish flooring. Repair or replace baseboard and shoe mold, and properly finish. Walls: Repair and refinish all walls. Repair and refinish walls of closet. Ceilings: Repair and refinish ceiling. Repair and refinish ceiling of closet. Cabinets and Miscellaneous: Repair and refinish southwest storage cabinets. Doors: Refinish south door. Windows: Repair window for sashes to fit and operate properly and to be weathertight. Refinish casings, facings, stool and trim of window(s). Remove broken sash cords and install new sash cords or provide proper window "stopping" facilities. Refinish window sashes. UPPER MIDDLE EAST BEDROOM: Floors: Repair and refinish flooring. Walls: Repair and refinish all walls. Ceilings: Repair and -refinish ceiling. Electrical: Repair or replace light fixture. Remove pull chain of ceiling light fixture. Doors: Install entrance door; to be complete with new hinges, lockset, jambs, casings and facings, and properly finished (northwest). Windows: Repair window for sashes to fit and operate properly and to be weathertight. Refinish casings, facings, stool and trim of window(s). Remove broken sash cords and install new sash cords or provide proper window "stopping" facilities. Refinish window sashes. UPPER SOUTHEAST BEDROOM: Floors: Repair and refinish flooring. Provide cover or grate for opening at north wall. Walls: Repair and refinish all walls. Ceilings: Repair and refinish ceiling. Cabinets and Miscellaneous: Refinish inside of southwest cabinet. Window and Door Screens: Install missing window screen(s) with insect tight screen(s), with properly fitted frames which must be openable. Windows: Repair window for sashes to fit and operate properly and to be weathertight: Refinish casings, facings, stool and trim of window(s). Refinish window sashes. 3 KITCHEN AND ENTRY VESTIBULE Floors: Seal floor covering at seams after cleaning floor. Walls: Repair and refinish all walls. Ceilings: Repair and refinish ceiling. Cabinets and Miscellaneous: Repair or replace wall cabinets and refinish. Plumbing: Install missing hot and cold water supply line to sink. Window and Door Screens: Install missing window screen(s) with insect tight screen(s), with properly fitted frames which must be openable. Doors: Install new lockset complete with keeper/strike plate for exterior door. Refinish exterior door. Repair jambs and/or casing of all openings. Refinish ,jamb, casing and facing of all openings. Replace missing locksets and hardware or repair bolt door to the sound and solid or replace entire exterior door. Windows: Repair window for sashes to fit and operate properly and to be weathertight. Refinish casings, facings, stool and trim of window(s). Refinish window sashes. SOUTH BATHROOM: Floors: Repair or replace baseboard and shoe mold, and properly finish. Clean existing floor covering. Walls: Repair and refinish all walls. Ceilings: Repair and refinish ceiling. Cabinets and Miscellaneous: Repair or replace wall cabinets and refinish. Electrical: Remove pull chain on light fixture and install approved wall mounted switch. Install approved mechanical ventilation system. Plumbing: Install missing hot and cold water supply lines to bathtub and lavatory. Replace the spigots of the bathtub and lavatory with an above the flood rim spigot. Replace the "S" trap of lavatory with an approved trap. Doors: Repair jamb(s) and/or casing of north door. Refinish jamb, casing and facing of north door. Windows: Repair or replace window stool(s) of west window(s). MIDDLE WEST BEDROOM: Floors: Walls: Ceilings: Electrical: Window and Door Screens: Doors: Windows: UTILITY ROOM: Repair and refinish flooring. Repair and refinish all walls. Repair and refinish ceiling. Repair and refinish ceiling of closet. Install light fixture for ceiling with approved wall switch. Remove illegal receptacle in closet. Repair window screen frames. Screens must be openable. Refinish south and closet doors. Repair jamb(s) and/or casing of south door. Kefinish jamb, casing and facing of south door. Repair window for sashes to fit and operate properly and to be weathertight. Refinish casings, facings, stool and trim of window(s). Refinish window sashes. Floors: Recover to be water impervious. Walls: Repair and refinish all walls. Ceilings: Repair and refinish ceiling. Electrical: Install additional duplex wall receptacle on east wall. Repair or replace wall receptacle(s) on west wall. Remove pull chain on light fixture .east. wall and install approved wall mounted switch. Relocate 220 receptacle for wiring not to be on top of floor. 5 Plumbing: Repair hot water tank to function and operate properly. Install a T&P valve on the hot water tank with proper relief line extending to a safe area. Install proper size relief line on T&P valve of hot water tank; line to be extended to an approved area. Replace vent of water heater. Window and Door Screens: Repair window screens to be insect tight. Repair window screen frames. Screens must be openable. Refinish window screen frames. Replace damaged middle screens. Doors: Refinish south door. Refinish jamb, casing and facing of south door. Windows: Repair window for sashes to fit and operate properly and to be weathertight. Refinish casings, facings, stool and trim of window(s). Remove broken sash cords and install new sash cords or provide proper window "stopping" facilities. Refinish window sashes. SOUTHWEST BEDROOM: Floors: Repair and refinish flooring. Walls: Repair and refinish all walls. Repair and refinish ceiling. Window- and Door Screens: Install missing window screen(s) with insect tight screen(s), with properly fitted frames which must be openable. Repair window- screens to be insect tight. Walls: Repair and refinish all walls. Ceilings: Repair and refinish ceiling. Window and Door Screens: Install missing window screen(s) with insect tight screen(s), with properly fitted frames which must be openable. Windows: Repair window for sashes to fit and operate properly and to be weathertight. Refinish casings, facings, stool and trim of window(s). Refinish window sashes. MIDDLE EAST ROOM: Floors: Repair and refinish flooring. Ceilings: Repair and refinish ceiling. Heating and Gas Piping: Install caps on riser and/or shut-off valves when not in use. Windows: Refinish casings, facings, stool and trim of window(s). Refinish window sashes. MIDDLE WEST BEDROOM: Floors: Repair and refinish flooring. Walls: Repair and refinish all walls. Repair and refinish walls of closet. Ceilings: Repair and refinish ceiling. Repair and refinish ceiling of closet. Electrical: Repair or replace wall receptacle(s) on south wall. E Heating and Gas Piping: Install caps on riser and/or shu'-off valves when riot in use. Window and Door Screens: Install missing window screen(s) with insect tight screen(s), with properly fitted frames which must be openable. Doors: Re -weatherstrip exterior door. BATHROOM: Walls: Repair and refinish all walls. Ceilings: Repair and refinish ceiling. Electrical: Remove pull chain on wall light fixture on and install approved wall mounted switch. Install approved mechanical ventilation system. Plumbing: Replace the spigot(s) of the bath tub with an above the flood rim spigot. Treat lavatory for rust or replace lavatory. Heating and Gas Piping: Install shut-off valve on gas riser(s). Window and Door Screens: Install screen door to exterior door. Doors: Refinish after repair doors (north and exterior doors). Re -weatherstrip. KITCHEN AND NORTHEAST STORAGE AREA: Floors: Repair torn covering or recover to be water impervious. Walls: Repair and refinish all walls. Repair and refinish walls of closet. Ceilings: Repair and refinish ceiling. Repair and refinish ceiling of closet. Cabinets and Miscellaneous: Repair base cabinet(s) and refinish. Repair or replace wall cabinets and refinish. Electrical: Install additional duplex wall receptacle on food preparation area walls. Replace broken cover plate of receptacle on south wall. 8 Plumbing: Install proper size relief line on T&P valve of hot water tank; line to be extended to an approved area. Window and Door Screens: Install missing window screen(s) with insect tight screen(s), with properly fitted frames which must be openable. Install missing screen west exterior door. Doors must, have automatic closure device. Doors: Refinish exterior. door. Repair or replace keeper/strike plate for exterior door. Windows: Replace missing window stop. Refinish window sashes. SOUTH BEDROOM: Floors: Repair and refinish flooring. Walls: Repair and refinish all walls. Repair and refinish walls of closet. Ceilings: Repair and refinish ceiling. Repair and refinish ceiling of closet. Cabinets and Miscellaneous: Repair or replace shelf of closet. Electrical: Install light fixture for ceiling with approved wall switch. Repair or replace west wall switch. Heating and Gas Piping: Install shut-off valve on gas riser(s). Install caps on riser and/or shut-off valves when not in use. Window and Door Screens: Install missing window screen(s) with insect tight screen(s), with properly fitted frames which must be openable. Provide screen door for exterior north shed. Doors: Refinish all doors. Repair or replace facings of exterior door and refinish. Install weatherstripping on exterior door. Windows: Refinish casings, facings, stool and trim of window(s). Install missing sash lock(s). Refinish window sashes. I] EXTERIOR: Electrical: Replace missing or defective circuit. breakers. Remove improperly installed and/or exposed wiring and install in an approved manner. Install wiring in conduit or wire mold. Install light fixture south exterior wall with approved wall switch. Plumbing: Repair or replace defective water supply lines to all fixtures where damaged and missing. Heating and Gas Piping: Must have pressure test on gas "house piping." Window and Door Screens: Install missing window screen(s) with insect tight screen(s), with properly fitted frames which must be openable. Repair window screens to be insect tight. Repair window screen frames. Screens must be openable. Refinish window screen frames. Install missing screen doors at all exterior door where missing. Doors must have automatic closure device. Windows: Reputty window sashes. Repair or replace facings of all windows. Repair or replace window sills of all windows. Siding: Repair or replace all broken siding. Install missing siding of east wall. Caulk all open seams of siding. Refinish all siding and exterior exposed wood. Overhangs: Repair or replace all rotted or damaged wood of roof overhang. Install proper ventilation for attic. Refinish all overhangs. 10 Foundation: 'ruck point underpinning and/or foundation wall. Repair or replace underpinning. Replace all termite damaged and/or rotten wooden underpinning with approved material. Repair or replace crawl space access door and refinish. Repair damaged foundation wall vents. Install proper screening for foundation wall vents. Clean out and put basement area in good repair. Roof: Repair roofing of entire structure where there is damage or recover. Repair, replace or remove damaged gutters and/or down spouts. Repair or remove deteriorated chimneys. Porches and Steps: Repair or replace decking of porch and refinish. Repair or replace railing and refinish. Install protective railing for porch, including intermediate rail(s). Repair or replace support columns of porch roof and refinish. Repair or replace steps. Refinish steps. Install proper hand rail for steps. Install proper intermediate rail for steps and properly finish. Repair or replace floor joists of porch. Refinish all exposed wood of porch and steps. Refinish all ceilings over all porches. Sanitation: Remove all trash, litter and debris from premises.
