HomeMy WebLinkAbout16907 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,907 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A ONE (1)-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH LIFE SKILLS 5 FOR YOUTH IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED 6 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($100,000.00) TO PROVIDE POSITIVE 7 PREVENTION PROGRAMMING, ENDORSED BY THE 8 COMMISSION ON CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES; AND FOR 9 OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS, as part of the continued efforts to fund special programs with Prevention 12 and Intervention dollars that will benefit children,youth and families within the City; and, 13 WHEREAS, Positive Prevention Programs are community programs conducted by non-profit 14 and faith-based organizations which may be located throughout the communities of the City of Little Rock; 15 and, 16 WHEREAS, after issuing Requests for Proposal (RFP) Bid No. 2671 — Positive Prevention 17 Programs, ages six (6) -twelve (12); and, 18 WHEREAS, A Review Committee met to evaluate the qualifications and responses of the 19 various non-profit,and faith-based organizations, of which applicants met the minimum scores for funding 20 consideration; and, 21 WHEREAS,on Wednesday,November 5, 2025, at the monthly meeting of the Commission for 22 Children,Youth and Families,the Commission reviewed the recommendations and endorsed the following 23 recommendations for approval; and, 24 WHEREAS, upon the formal adoption of this resolution, any negotiation processes will begin 25 with an intent to execute contracts with each of the organizations. 26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 27 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 28 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a one (1)-year contract extension 29 with Life Skills for Youth to provide Positive Prevention Programs in 2026,in an amount not to exceed One 30 Hundred Thousand Dollars($100,000.00) per contracted Positive Prevention Program. 31 Section 2. Funds for these programs are available in the 2026 Budget of the Community 32 Programs Department, Account No.108159. 33 Section 3. The term for this contract extension shall be for a period no longer than a [Page 1 of 2] 1 calendar fiscal year of twelve (12) months, and will operate between January 1 , 2026, through 2 December 31, 2026, with the final report due January 31, 2027 with an understanding that 3 the City ratifies, accepts, and will compensate for any work done on or after January 1, 2026, 4 and the effective date of the approved contract. 5 Section 4. All payments are conditioned upon entry into contracts for services that are 6 in a Form acceptable to the City Attorney; further, nothing in this resolution prevents the City 7 from being able to offer similar services to any vendor during 2026 if, in its sole discretion, it 8 decides to do so. 9 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, 10 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 11 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 12 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 13 resolution. 14 Section 4.
