HomeMy WebLinkAbout16878 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,878 2 3 4 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE 5 A RENEWAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, 6 ARKANSAS, AND WRIGHT, LINDSEY & JENNINGS, LLP IN AN 7 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FORTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS 8 ($45,000.00), FOR LEGAL CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE SOLAR 9 ENERGY PROJECT;AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock ("City") entered into an agreement with Wright, Lindsey & 12 Jennings, LLP(the"Finn")effective on January 1,2024, for legal consulting services for the City's solar 13 energy project pursuant to Bid No.2257; and, 14 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Board of Directors approved of the first of six(6) annual one (1)-year 15 renewals upon the adoption of Little Rock.Ark.,Resolution No. 16,570(January 21,2025);and, 16 WHEREAS,the solar energy project is in the design and early construction phase, and the City is in 17 need of continuing legal consulting services for this project;and, 18 WHEREAS,the first renewal of the agreement with the Finn was for an amount not to exceed Forty- 19 Five Thousand Dollars($45,000.00);and, 20 WHEREAS,the City shall pay the Firm for the services provided on an hourly basis and this second 21 renewal shall be for an amount not to exceed Forty-Five Thousand Dollars($45,000.00);and, 22 WHEREAS, the City wishes to exercise the second of six(6) renewal options for an additional one 23 (1)-year term beginning January 1,2026. 24 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 25 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 26 Section 1.The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract between the City of Little Rock 27 and Wright,Lindsey&Jennings,LLP for the second of six(6)annual one(1)-year renewals for an amount 28 not to exceed Forty-Five Thousand Dollars ($45,000.00)for legal consulting services for the City's solar 29 energy project. 30 Section 2.Funds for this contract renewal are available in Account No. 108129-S 100569. 31 Section 3.Severability.In the event any title,section,paragraph,item,sentence,clause,phrase,or word 32 of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional,such declaration or adjudication 33 shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the 34 portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution.
