WARRANTY
KYNAR 500 LIIv1ITBD 20 YEAR WARRANTY
Fashion, Inc. hereby issues the following warranty to original building owners who are registered purchasers of
Architectural Metal Panels coated with 70% full strength Kynar 5009 flurocarbon coatings.
Fashion warrants its paint comings for a period of twenty years from the date of initial installation. The Kynar
5" coatings will not crack, check, or peel (lose adhesion). The term "crack" as used herein shall not include
minute fracturing which may occur during proper fabrication of the panels. For a period of twenty years from the
date of installation, the coating applied to the Panels will not chalk in excess of ASTM D-659-80 number eight
(8) rating, with roof pitch from 0 to 86 degrees (chalk rating to be determined by the prooedure outlined in ASTM
D-659-80 specification test), and will not change color more than five (5) NBS units ASTM D-2244-79
paragraph 4.3.2.4 with roof pitch from 0 to 86 degrees. Certain bright reds, yellows, or orange colors carry 20
year film integrity, 20 year number (8) eight chalk rating and 10 year 12 E units fade. Certain coastal locations
are covered under "International Warranty" terms as stipulated by the coating manufacturer.
This warranty applies only to Panels exposed to normal atmospheric conditions. This does not apply where any
failure is the result of fire, vandalism., radiation, salt spray, harmful fumes or foreign substances in the
atmosphere, mishandling, other accident or casualty or any other physical damage whatsoever. 'TLvnff l fumes or
foreign substances in the atmosphere" does not include general air pollution or smog which is or has been
normally present throughout the community. Routine maintenance may require washing with mild soap and water
followed by a clean water rinse.
Should a coating failure occur within these warranties, Fashion may elect to refinish or replace any surface
showing such failure. Fashion will assume full cost of materials only for such refinishing, restoring, or
replacement of the Panels. The above warranties apply only to Panels installed or structures located within the
Continental United States.
The warranty must be requested in writing by either the vendor or installer (on behalf of the owner) or the owner.
The original building owner shall promptly execute and return to Fashion the warranty registration. The
registration date shall be the intallation date. Oil canning is not considered cause for product rejection.
All claims must be made in writing to Fashion with proper documentation of date of purchase within the warranty
period The in -place panels must be inspected by a representative of Fashion, Inc. to determine the exact cause of
the failure. The warranty or replacement materials shall extend until the end of the warranty on the original
material. This instrument completed defines the express warranties of Fashion with respect to the Panels. Any
implied warranty will not extend beyond the 20 year period. FASHION WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY
CONSEQUE TMI, DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF THESE EXPRESS WARRANTIES OR ANY IIIAPLIED
WARRANTY.
