To get an electrical permit you do have to be an electrician or pass a test I. think. Walter -----Original Message ----- From: Langley, Susan On Behalf Of Info Sent: Tuesday, January 06, 2009 9:07 AM To: Malone, Walter Subject: FW: building permits Might this be Walter Malone instead of Jerry Malone? Either way, would you mind forwarding to the correct individual? Susan K. I answered an ad for electrician in the Arkansas Democrat Gazzette. When I spoke with the man who identified himself as Jerry Malone he indicated he needed a person who could pull a permit in Little Rock. I find this rather suspect and would like more info. The Address He gave me was 308 Daisy Bates in L.R. He said it was a Historical renovation. Can you point me in the right direction to investigate the project? You may paint the window and frame the body color of the house to not draw attention to it. That needs to be redone before we sign off on the COA. I can show you house in the district where the front windows are wood (not just sash replacements) and the sides are all vinyl. There is visible difference between the two. the State statue talks about the view form the street, and the front of the residence is the most important view. I assume you will, or the final occupants of the structure will, have some window coverings that will disguise the difference of the windows from the inside. In the past, the commission has been adamantly against vinyl windows all together, and if you listen to the tape, Marshall said that all vinyl windows are not acceptable. I feel that we are at a compromise with the mix of the windows and following the state recommendation on the window closure. Brian Minyard From: Arlene Sullivan [mailto:mbasullivan@yahoo.com] Sent: Thu 5/8/2008 4:05 PM To: Minyard, Brian Subject: windows Brian, Bill finally got my estimates. Vinyl windows would be $8638.00 versus 11,640.30 for the mixture of windows. that is a difference of $3002 that I ned elsewhere. Also, I do not think mixing these windows in the various rooms would look so great. I need to sell this house and having a patch -work type appearance would not help the re -sell potential. Also, if you listen to the tape of our hearing, the chairman said we only had to save the header and sill for possible future use. He did not say we had to leave it up making for another patch -work type appearance. We have saved the header and sill. Do to cost, I really need to use the vinyl windows. Bill says the appearance will be uniform and most important, energy efficient. Arlene Sullivan Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile.
