Request for Variance
To whom it may concern:
We are writing to you today as the homeowners of 1609 Blair Street in Little Rock, Arkansas 72207. We are seeking a variance from the zoning ordinance for repair and add structural support
for the front porch of our home in addition to permitting more than 30% coverage of the rear yard for an accessory structure. The front porch is within the front set back. The existing
front porch is in need of repair and reconstruction due to years of weather, damage, and rot. We would like to take the front porch from two columns to four columns for additional support.
The front porch foundation is currently partially covered. We would be rebuilding the gable for repair and extending the roof to cover the entire width of the porch. The roof line will
not enter further into the set back as the porch foundation will remain the existing size. All in all, we request approval to add additional support with two extra columns on the front
porch with repair, extension of the roof to accommodate covering the existing porch, and the addition of a carport in the rear yeard. We kindly ask for your consideration to grant our
request for a variance.
