Reconfigure roof trusses farther up roof as in drawing. This includes new higher support
beam through bathroom. Roofing is in separate proposal. Remove present bath floor and
rebuild with new lumber and 3/4" plywood on present lines. This includes installing new beam
between bath and shed. Reframe wall between bathroom and shed. Frame in for new
window above old bathtub location, install an approximately 20" x 36" two -over -two
double -hung window unit milled from Spanish Cedar. Install moisture barrier on walls.
Reinstall siding where possible, add new siding where needed. Install fixed window on east
side (provided by owner). Build dividing wall between shed and closet as in drawing.
Construct stairs from bath to new closet floor. All attempts will be made to make the stairs a
single run without a 90 degree cantilever. Stairs will be an open -frame design and can be
trimmed out at a later date. Add an inward -opening door provided by owner at the top of
stairs. Remove door frame between bath and porch and frame in with 2x lumber. No interior
finishes. Windows and shed door will be trimmed out on the exterior only.
Rebuild porch and north bathroom:
Remove and save any reusable siding, old pine framing, and door. Remove deteriorated east
floor beam and interior floor framing; add temporary supports for roof. Remove porch wall
framing, windows, and present masonry piers/blocks to corner (leave existing corner pier).
Top plates will be left in place.

manner according to the submitted specificatins and standard practices. Any alterations or
deviations from the above specifications will require an extra charge over and above the estimate.
Agreements will be fulfilled in a timely manner, unless circumstances beyond our control (i.e.
weather delays, accidents, strikes, etc...) occur.

Description Total
Remove interior wall, floor, and east wall of north bathroom and support as in porch.
Remove deteriorated ring beam to corner.
Pour concrete footers beneath east wall and build masonry block wall, then install new
doubled 2x8 ring beam. Run new 2x6 joists on 16' centers, install 3/4" plywood flooring.
Build outside wall with seven doubled 2x4 columns to support roof and divide windows.
Frame in for three windows (approximate rough opening 27" wide by 48" high) including
2x4s on 16" centers on east wall of bathroom. Original door will be reinstalled seven inches
into the room to allow door to open. Door will be installed to open inward, left hinge.
Rebuild south wall of bath, install original door and frame.
Fabricate three double -hung widow units from Spanish cedar. Windows will be 2 over 2
glazed lights and will have weights, ropes and pulleys. Install moisture barrier on exterior
wall and exterior trim on windows and door; install frieze over ring beam topped with a
milled drip edge. Reinstall original siding where possible and new siding where needed.
No interior finish. All exposed new wood on exterior and re -installed siding will be oil
primed, including end grain and back.

Rebuild shed and south bathroom
Remove existing shed. Save siding, door frame, and any reusable wood for future use.
Install new piers and ring beam as needed for shed rebuilding and support of bathroom
floor.
Construct new shed on same lines as old, but include a new steel door unit in place of old. A
concrete footing will be poured under the outside walls and topped with block masonry. New
doubled 2x8 ring beam will be constructed with 2x6 joists on 16" centers as floor structure.
3/4" plywood with be installed as floor, and 2x4 stud walls on 16" centers will create the walls
and support the new roof.
New floor to have 18" clearance between joists and ground.

Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the proposed roof modifications
for the House at 312 E. 1 lth Street in Little Rock. Because this house is a
contributing structure in the MacArthur Park Historic District and since you
are applying for the Arkansas Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits as well as
Federal Historic Tax Credits, The National Park Service has determined that
proposed roof extension over the rear door meets the Secretary of the
Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation.
