HomeMy WebLinkAbout16856 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,856 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO UTILIZE 4 REDSTONE CONSTRUCTION GROUP, INC. AND MCGEORGE 5 CONTRACTING COMPANY,INC.D/B/A CRANFORD CONSTRUCTION 6 COMPANY FROM THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF 7 TRANSPORTATION ACTIVE LIST OF SUPPLIERS AND BID PRICES 8 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND 9 DOLLARS ($300,000.00) FOR THE PURCHASE OF HOT MIX ASPHALT 10 IN BULK FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT; AND FOR 11 OTHER PURPOSES. 12 13 WHEREAS, the Public Works Department utilizes Asphalt Concrete Hot Mix materials for the 14 purpose of pothole patching and street surface repairs;and, 15 WHEREAS, Arkansas Department of Transportation bids Asphalt Concrete Hot Mix materials 16 multiple times each year due to fluctuations in prices and keeps an active list of suppliers and bid prices 17 for Asphalt Concrete Hot Mix materials;and, 18 WHEREAS, Arkansas Department of Transportation's active list of suppliers includes Redstone 19 Construction Group, Inc. and McGeorge Contracting Company, Inc. D/B/A Cranford Construction 20 Company who provide a local source for these materials. 21 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 22 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 23 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to utilize Redstone Construction Group, Inc. and 24 McGeorge Contracting Company, Inc. D/B/A Cranford Construction Company from the Arkansas 25 Department of Transportation active bids for the purchase of Asphalt Concrete Hot Mix materials, in an 26 amount not to exceed Three Hundred Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($300,000.00) for a period of one 27 year,to be utilized for pothole patching and street surface repairs. 28 Section 2. Funds are available in the Public Works Department account: Streets & Drainage 29 Maintenance 204003 -61020. 30 Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this Resolution is declared or adjudged to be 31 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this 32 Resolution,which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 33 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this Resolution.
