3 A RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE PACHUCA, HIDALGO, MEXICO AS A SISTER
4 CITY TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; TO AUTHORIZE THE
5 MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE ANY DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO
6 MEMORIALIZE THIS RECOGNITION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, part of the mission of Sister Cities, International, is to "promote peace
9 through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation - one individual, one com-
10 munity at a time;" and,
11 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Sister Cities Commission has recommended that the City
12 of Little Rock, Arkansas, become a sister city with La Ciudad de Pachuca, Estado de
13 Hildogo, de Mexico, and there is mutual interest expressed by Pachuca to be a sister
14 city with Little Rock; and
15 WHEREAS, Pachuca is the capital city of the State of Hidalgo and, like Little Rock,
16 is known for its architecture, its history, and its museums;
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
18 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The Mayor and the City Clerk, upon recommendation of the Little
20 Rock Sister Cities Commission, are hereby authorized to execute any and all docu-
21 ments to memorialize the beginning of a sister city relationship between the City of
22 Little Rock, Arkansas, United States of America, and La Ciudad de Pachuca, Estado de
23 Hildago, de Mexico.
24 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sen-
25 tence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid
26 or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
27 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion
28 so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
29 resolution.

Resolution
To recognize Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico as a Sister City
1 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same,
2 that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the
3 extent of such inconsistency.
