Markham, Room 135 Little Rock, AR 72201 RE: Proposed Hampton Inn & Suites - Little Rock, Arkansas 320 Commerce Street File No. 2007-036 Dear Sir: The purpose of this letter is a request for franchise for certain encroachments upon the public right-of- way as pertains to the referenced project. The proposed hotel will front onto Commerce Street and Fourth Street, at the northwest quadrant of that intersection. The reason for all of these requests is that the building is designed to sit on the 4h Street and Commerce Street right-of-way lines, leaving space for these secondary building appurtenances. The following specific issues are presented: 1. Door Swings Onto Sidewalk - Doors H24 and H27 currently are shown to wing onto the public right-of-way sidewalk. Door H27 is a fire exit stair door and will be used infrequently. Door H24 is a dumpster enclosure door, and will only be opened for service activities, which normally occur during the off-peak pedestrian/traffic hours. 2. Awnings - There are eight (8) canvas awnings with light metal framing to sun shade the storefront windows along the two street frontages. These awnings project out 6', and are open on the ends, and are about 8' above sidewalk elevation. 3. Canopy - There is a permanent arrival canopy on the Commerce Street face of the building which cantilevers out 10' at the most distant extent and 5' at the shorter extend. It is 12' above sidewalk level. 4. Flagpoles - There are three (3) flag poles on the Commerce Street frontage which are mounted at the 31d floor level and cantilever out approximately 10'. 5. Exterior Wall Lanterns - There are approximately fifteen (15) exterior wall lanterns mounted to the face of the building, at about 7' high, which encroach approximately 8" to 12" across the property line.
