3 A RESOLUTION TO CLARIFY THE CONTRACT TERM FOR PREVENTION,
4 INTERVENTION, AND TREATMENT CONTRACTS AWARDED IN RESOLUTION
5 NUMBER 12,436, 12,437, 12,438, 12,439, 12,440, AND 12,441; AND FOR
6 OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, several contractors providing prevention, intervention, and treatment services on
9 December 31, 2006, were awarded contracts for 2007 services; and
10 WHEREAS, several 2006 contractors continued to provide services into 2007 for the benefit of
11 the youth and adults receiving services; and
12 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors desires to recognize such dedicated service by amending the
13 2007 contract term of certain 2006 contractors who continued to provide services in 2007, in order to
14 make them whole; and
15 WHEREAS, some organizations awarded 2007 contracts are not yet ready to provide services
16 until a contract with the City is executed, and their contract terms shall be individually negotiated.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
18 ROCK, ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. Those 2006 contractors awarded contracts in Resolutions 12,437(Youth
20 Intervention, Prevention, and Treatment), 12,438 (Neighborhood Based), 12,439 (New Futures), and
21 12,440 (Neighborhood Support Centers) shall have a contract term of January 1, 2007 - December 31,
22 2007.
23 Section 2. Those contractors awarded bids in Resolutions 12,436 (Domestic Violence Programs)
24 and 12,441 (Outpatient Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment Services) shall have a 12 month
25 contract term to be negotiated by the City Manager and City Attorney.
26 Section 3. New contractor's terms shall be negotiated by the City Manager and City Attorney,
27 with an end date of December 31, 2007, unless it is to the parties' mutual benefit to extend thereafter
28 for a maximum of 12 months
29 Section 4. All contract awards are contingent upon successful negotiation by the City Manager
30 and City Attorney.
31 Section 5. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared to adjudged to be
32 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining ports of this
33 resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared to adjudged invalid
34 or unconstitutional was no originally a part of this resolution.
35 Section 6. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict
36 with any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
I Section 7. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
