I understand Vince is out of the office. However, Dana wanted me to check with public works and inquire if there would
be any civil issues with the attached plan for PPG Industries on Vimay Ridge Road. They are proposing the removal of (7)
large pine trees and replacing them with (16) 3" caliper trees. I am OK with the proposed layout and just wanted
someone from Public Works look at it before I sign off.

I'm OK with the removal of the (7) pine trees and the proposed lay out of the (16) new trees as shown on the attached
plan. Also, could you confirm that you have contacted Vince Floriani at Public Works and he has approved the removal
of the trees and how this would pertain to proposed grading, retaining wall, and runoff.

Attached is my first run at a tree plan. I spaced the trees 25ft apart for my first run.
There is a nice grass space right now that I don't want to mess up to much but I will do whatever you want to make this
work. I call out 8 White Oak and 8 Red Oak. If you want them closer, spaced differently or even a different tree please
let me know and I will adjust.

Civil Engineer Eric Warford of Heritage Engineering has requested the removal of (7) large pine trees to
allow for the expansion of a warehouse loading area and to correct the drainage at PPG Industries
To provide this expansion a retaining wall will need to be provided and earthwork will take place within
the direct path or close proximity of these existing trees. It has been determined that these trees would
mostly likely be killed or damaged due to this construction.
It has been requested that a landscape plan exceeding the amount of existing trees on the site be
presented as mitigation for the removal of the (7) trees.
In accordance with the tree credit chart of the city code it is estimated that 29 (3) inch caliper trees
would need to be replanted to compensate for the caliper inches of the (7) pine trees to be removed.
Mr. Warford is to submit a landscape plan for review

Trees that are destroyed or removed by act or consent of the responsible party shall be replaced in accordance with the
tree credits set forth in Sec. 15-52. Preservation, Protection and Planting. The following chart indicates the replacement
value of each tree removed that is 4 inches or above measured at 4.5 feet above ground level or DBH (diameter at
breast height).
