It seems it would stay up until the demolition phase is complete and then taken down for plant installations. Thanks for your replies! Happy 4th of July weekend! Lee S. I will accept a multi -trunk tree with a minimum of three canes each being a minimum 1.5 inches in caliper. However, the City of Little Rock will no longer accept crape myrtles to meet this requirement. Any single trunk ornamental tree will need to be a minimum of 3 inches in caliper at installation to meet the requirement. In addition to the one (1) tree at the building I would like to see a minimum of six (6) new shade trees between Financial Center Parkway and the parking area as shown on the conceptual sketch I provided at our meeting. Could you graphically define the different groundcovers you are using in the planting bed? It appears from your drawing that all of the plants specified are represented with only one symbol. In addition (though not required) you may want to redefine the edge of your groundcover bed and provide more turf as shown on the before mentioned conceptual sketch. I believe you may end up with a more cost effective, cleaner and manicured look if this approach was taken instead of trying to reuse the edge of the existing overgrown planting beds. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments. Thanks, D. (quantities as shown in your schematic plan) The rest of the site landscaping remained as previously shown. Tracy, Questions: -Can you review the ornamental tree sizes/selection that I have shown, and let me know if this will be acceptable? ...I know that you said 3" ornamental trees but that seems excessive for ornamentals and the cost of these trees will be quite a bit. I have proposed 1.5" caliper, multi -trunk, large tree form, Crape Myrtles to create a rhythm and frame each end of the two large planting beds. I've also selected 1.5", multi -trunk, Serviceberry trees. My thoughts were that being multi-trunked trees, these would roughly equal the size of a 3" caliper tree. All comments and suggestions are welcome! Thank you, Lee Stewart Project Designer ,VF NkCi£LI.RNA f CONS(It7lNG r-r z- F ENGINEERS, INC. 1810 N. College Ave. I Fayetteville, AR 72703 P.O. Your demolition plan indicates a number of plants to be removed that may be healthy or not actually existing. Dana Carney and myself reviewed the proposed landscape and demolition plan last week with Mitch Rose and concluded that only three (3) additional trees would be removed. These included two (2) dead hickory trees (20"and 12"caliper) located adjacent to Financial Center Parkway and one (1) River Birch (10" caliper) located on the west side of the building. In accordance with tree credit chart in Sec. 15-52. Preservation, protection and planting( https://Iibrary.rnLinicode.com/index.aspx?clientid=11:170 ) of the Little Rock City Code this would require twelve (12) 3" (minimum) caliper replacement trees to be planted upon the removal of the before mentioned hickory and birch. Mr. Carney suggested that in -lieu of planting all of the required twelve (12) trees that possibly three (3) 3" caliper trees could be installed; two (2) adjacent to Financial Parkway and one (1) adjacent to the west side of the building. To satisfy the requirement for the remaining nine (9) trees a donation to the T.R.E.E Fund as per Sec. 15-37 https://Iibrary..mu iicode.comindex.as x?clientld=11170 ) of the city code could be made. I have not conducted a complete review of the site but have driven by and only noticed the hickory trees adjacent to Financial Center Parkway as being dead or severely stressed. If any additional trees are removed they will need to be replaced at the rate as outlined in the tree credit chart. Refreshing of the landscape at the building was also discussed concerning the planting beds and trees east of the structure. The landscape as shown your preliminary plan was met with approval but it should be noted that crape myrtles and ornamental grasses can be used but will not be accepted to meet any of the cities plant material requirements.
